Quick Answer: The eufy E20 is a self-emptying robot vacuum whose motor and bin lift out to become a cordless stick or handheld vacuum. eufy ended production in January 2026, so you can only buy remaining stock, which Vacuum Wars tracked at $349.99 on Amazon against a $649.99 list price. In Vacuum Wars testing it cleaned 81% of embedded carpet dirt (average 75%), picked up 97% of pet hair and wrapped 0% of long hair on its brush. It avoided just 9 of 24 obstacles (average 16), and it does not mop. At about $350 it is a good buy for a small home that also needs a stick vac. At list price it is not.
The E20 was eufy’s answer to the oldest complaint about robot vacuums: they can’t do stairs, sofas or the car. Pull the handle out of the robot and you have a stick vacuum with a telescoping wand and floor head, or a handheld with two small tools. eufy says it was recognized in the CES 2025 Innovation Awards, and it went on sale on February 10, 2025 at $549.99, according to Consumer Reports. Less than a year later, eufy announced it was retiring the product. That makes this review a buy-it-or-skip-it decision on leftover stock, and the sections below give you the measured numbers to decide.
eufy E20 by the numbers
- 81% deep-carpet cleaning of embedded sand in Vacuum Wars testing, against a 75% category average.
- 97% pet-hair pickup of flattened 2.5-inch hair (average 87%) and 0% hair wrap on the 7-inch hair test (average 38%).
- 9 of 24 obstacles avoided against a category average of 16. The E20 has LiDAR and dual front lasers but no camera.
- 763 sq ft per charge estimated by Vacuum Wars, against a 1,015 sq ft average, despite eufy’s 180-minute rated runtime.
- 106 inches of sealed suction in stick mode, more than a Dyson Digital Slim (90) and the 74-inch cordless average, per Vacuum Wars.
- 3 L dock bag rated for up to 75 days by eufy, for a two-person household with pets.
- Vacuum Wars score: 2.52, “around 50th place” by the lab’s own estimate. The October 29, 2026 Top 20 cutoff is 3.69.
- Critic ratings: TechRadar 4/5 (Recommended, February 2025), Tom’s Guide 3.5/5 (June 2025).

eufy Robot Vacuum 3-in-1 E20
- One of very few robot vacuums whose motor unit lifts out to become a cordless stick or handheld vacuum.
- Strong carpet and pet-hair results with zero hair wrap; weak obstacle avoidance and short coverage per charge.
- Discontinued: buy only from a retailer with a clear return window, and only near $350.
Leftover stock of a discontinued model sells out without warning, so if the price is right, don’t wait for a better one. You can get your new robot vacuum in two days: try Amazon Prime free for 30 days.
eufy discontinued the E20. What that means for you
eufy announced the retirement itself. Its US blog post from January 29, 2026 says the E20 “will no longer be in production from 2026 onward” and notes that the product had launched only in February 2025. eufy gave no reason. The same post promises that owners can keep buying “high-performance filters, replacement side brushes, or a new battery pack” from the official store, and that free support continues through live chat and email.
Two things follow from that:
- New units are leftover stock. On October 30, 2026, the E20’s product URL on eufy’s US store redirected to a general appliance-deals page. Best Buy’s E20 listing (SKU 6611011) also reports it as no longer available in new condition. Prices for remaining stock vary a lot. Vacuum Wars logged $349.99 on Amazon in July 2026, while eufy’s own last list price was $649.99.
- Parts are covered for now. Filters, side brushes and the battery pack are the parts that wear out, and eufy has committed to supplying them. Plan to buy a spare filter and a bag pack with the robot so you are not relying on a discontinued model’s parts later.
Robot mode: good on carpet and hair, weak around obstacles
As a robot, the E20 cleans better than its 2.52 overall score suggests. Vacuum Wars buried sand in medium-pile carpet and the E20 removed 81%, against a 75% average. It picked up 97% of flattened pet hair (average 87%), and its brush finished the 7-inch hair test with 0% wrapped around it. The category average is 38%. Tom’s Guide gave it an overall cleaning-performance score of 96.97 and a pet-hair score of 94.93 in its own tests.
The weak points are navigation and stamina:
- Obstacles: 9 of 24. The LiDAR and dual front lasers detect objects over 15 mm, but there is no camera to identify socks, cables or pet waste. TechRadar saw it “push shoes around” and called navigation “a little clumsy and inconsistent”. Clear the floor before each run.
- Coverage: 763 sq ft per charge. eufy rates the battery for 180 minutes, but Vacuum Wars measured just 0.91 minutes of cleaning per 1% of battery (average 1.33). In a home over about 750 sq ft, expect it to return to the dock to recharge mid-clean.
- Docking quirks. Tom’s Guide found the robot “can easily undock”, had Wi-Fi trouble with its first review unit, and timed the empty cycle (a 360° spin, then the empty) at about three minutes.
The robot is also tall. At 118.5 mm (4.67 in), the handle unit sitting on top needs about 4.7 inches of clearance, so it won’t fit under many sofas and beds that a slim robot can reach.
Stick and handheld mode: the reason to buy it
Lift the handle out and the E20 is a capable cordless vacuum. Vacuum Wars ran it through the same tests it uses on stick vacuums and compared it with the Dyson Digital Slim:
| Stick-mode test | eufy E20 | Dyson Digital Slim | Cordless average |
|---|---|---|---|
| Handle weight | 1,240 g | 1,232 g | 1,591 g |
| Sealed suction (max) | 106 in | 90 in | 74 in |
| Deep-carpet cleaning (max) | 97% | 96% | 93% |
| Airflow | 36 CFM | 43 CFM | 42 CFM |
| Crevice pickup | 3 of 3 | 2 | 2.3 |
| Runtime, low power | 40 min | 40 min | 44 min |

The stick beats the Dyson on sealed suction, carpet and crevices, at the same weight. The limits are just as clear. The battery lasts about 40 minutes on low, 20 on medium and 10 or less on max. The E20 failed the lab’s fog (filtration) test. On hard floors it snowplowed larger debris instead of picking it up. Vacuum Wars also called the bin “among the smallest we’ve ever seen in a cordless vacuum”. The design has a few annoyances too. The floor head can’t attach directly to the handle without the wand. The handheld tools don’t fit the wand, so you can’t use a crevice tool at full reach. And the dock has nowhere to store the wand or floor head.
The design works best as an extra cordless vacuum for stairs, a sofa or a car. No robot can clean stair treads (see our robot vacuum for stairs guide), and the E20 is one of the few that brings the stick vacuum with it. If you would otherwise buy a separate stick vacuum, that is where the E20’s value comes from.
What reviewers didn’t like
| Source | Rating | Main criticisms |
|---|---|---|
| TechRadar (Feb 2025) | 4/5, Recommended | Erratic navigation, some obstacle-avoidance issues, no mopping |
| Tom's Guide (Jun 2025) | 3.5/5 | App connectivity and mapping issues, small hard-to-empty bin, robot undocks easily |
| Vacuum Wars (updated Oct 2026) | 2.52 score | Poor battery efficiency, poor obstacle avoidance (9 of 24), small bin, stick snowplows debris and failed the fog test |
All three praise the same thing: the 3-in-1 design. TechRadar called it “an ingenious piece of design”, and Vacuum Wars said it “may be the highest-ranking robot with an auto-empty bin currently available for under $400”.
eufy’s suggested replacements don’t do what the E20 did
eufy’s discontinuation post recommends three alternatives. None of them turns into a stick vacuum. If the 3-in-1 design is why you want an E20, there is no current eufy successor.

E20, E28 and D20+ figures come from Vacuum Wars (D20+ score and price from the October 29, 2026 Top 20 page); C10 figures from eufy’s E20 discontinuation post; C20 and E28 prices from our own reviews. A dash means no published figure in those sources.
- The eufy E28 is eufy’s “all-in-one” pick, but what detaches is a wet carpet-and-upholstery spot cleaner, not a dry stick vacuum. It mops and avoided 23 of 24 obstacles, at roughly twice the E20’s stock price.
- The eufy Omni C20 adds strong mopping and a self-washing dock but scored 0.0 on obstacle avoidance, worse than the E20.
- The eufy Auto-Empty C10 is the closest vacuum-only match, but at $479.99 it costs more than E20 stock and eufy rates it at half the suction (4,000 Pa vs 8,000 Pa).
- The Dreame D20+ is Vacuum Wars’ current Best Budget pick. It scores higher (2.91 vs 2.52) and costs less, but you get no stick vacuum.

Who should buy the eufy E20
- Buy it if you need both a robot and a cordless stick vacuum and would rather store one device than two. Its stick mode out-suctioned a Dyson Digital Slim in testing.
- Buy it if you find it near $350 from a retailer with a return window. Vacuum Wars called it “excellent value” at that price.
- Buy it if long hair wraps around your current robot’s brush. The E20 wrapped 0%.
- Skip it if you want mopping. It is vacuum only.
- Skip it if your floors have cables, toys or pet accidents. 9 of 24 obstacles avoided is well below average; our best robot vacuum with obstacle avoidance guide covers better options.
- Skip it if your home is much larger than about 750 sq ft, or your furniture sits lower than 4.7 inches.
- Skip it if the price is near the $649.99 list. At that price, a separate budget robot and stick vacuum cost less and perform better.
The bottom line
The eufy E20 has two strengths: it is a good carpet and pet-hair robot (81% deep carpet, 97% pet hair, 0% wrap), and its detachable stick mode beat a Dyson Digital Slim on sealed suction (106 vs 90 inches). Its weaknesses are below-average obstacle avoidance (9 of 24), short coverage per charge (763 sq ft) and no mopping. eufy stopped making it in January 2026 and none of its suggested replacements converts into a stick vacuum. Leftover stock near $350 is a good buy for a small home that needs both a robot and a cordless vacuum. If you only need the robot, the Dreame D20+ scores higher for less.
